Recipes for Disaster

Created as part of a Book Design Workshop at Shenkar College, 2018.

The idea for this book was born as a visual response to what feels like a generally bleak state the world entered in the past few years. Accelerated by Donald Trump’s election as President of the United States in late 2016 and Russians' murky involvement in it. Adding the escalating political climate in Israel and the constant threat of nuclear war - any day that passes with no notable news feels like the best news.

I decided to take different news articles from the start of Donald Trump’s election campaign and put them in a cookbook format, tying it all together with the title "Recipes for Disaster".
The art direction is inspired by food photography, I shot and styled the images using mostly edible props, each image directly responds to the accompanying article.
